Once drove my '80 with manual trans about halfway thru Atlanta on the
expressway in 3rd gear.
Couldn't figure out why it misfired and lost power at about 55 mph.
Realized eventually that it had been up against the rpm limiter.  One
case where those VW engineers may have saved me from myself.
