I made a rear bumper for my old '80 ex-Westy farm truck, out of a treated 4"x4" post. I attached a rubber bumper strip along its entire length and even used the black plastic end caps. It looked pretty cool and was hell for stout. http://users.zhonka.net/zeitgeist/Misc/Grunt%20truck.jpg On 8/21/05, gary goldey <clonestar7@yahoo.com> wrote: > For the last few monthas I have been drooling over the idea of welding up some big ol' tubular steel bumpers for "SQUEAKY" my 1984 'big brother' version Vanagon.----If you have any alternate ideas, plan sets or alternative retail outfits that wont cost me an arm and a leg- ( I have even pondered the idea of using wood)--please let me know. > > I see alot of the trucks here in Texas have front bumper and grill deer guards - ---even if you wanna send me a foto of a baddass looking grille I would appreciate it---send to clonestar7@yahoo.com > thx Casey Biodiesel: '87 300TD intercooler (208k) '84 300D (204k) Gashuffer: '89 Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition (185K)
