I dropped the 84 Westy off at my longtime local vw mechanic for a quick once
over, fuel lines, coolant hoses, change the oil, double check my aux.
battery installation, etc. before heading to see the man burn.

When I told him, I had 20/50 weight dino oil in it, he said he could do that
but didn't recommend it. Thought 10/30 or 10/40 at the highest to not blow
out seals, etc.

I know we have beat this to death recently, but I can't seem to access the
archives. Help? What weight oil for a 1200 mile  rd. trip to BFE Nevada w/
temps over 100?
