( per Jim Felder ) "By slowing down and driving smoother, the brakes are less important anyway" Perusing old 'Popular Science' magazines from the late '50's/early 60's the yearly "Mobil Economy Run" was a big deal - one observation that popped up often was that using the brakes wastes fuel (!) - i.e. if you put yourself in the position of having to use your brakes unnecessarily then you used extra fuel to get into that position. Esp. in Vanagons there's no excuse 'cuz we're in a perfect position to be driving far down the road. I regularly get 19+ (GPS actual) w/ an Adventurewagen top. Slow lane, 55-60 constant. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
