Aha. That would explain why the only conversion I have seen so far was a 
21-window bus with a 3.6l Porsche engine! Is the tiptronic controller 
actually all-in-one with the ECU? Or separate and just dependent upon its 
input? I'd think the latter, as it seems the former would require multiple 
versions of the Motronic ECU for various Audi models, for example.
