Time to fix the rear heater.

How the devil does one get the heater core shroud off?

I pulled the screws, tried to lift out the shroud - only to find that it
was designed by an engineer having a bad hair day, and installed as
designed by a worker whose beer had gone flat. Cripes what a goofy
contraption. Can't pull that shroud without taking the whole rear seat
front frame loose from the body frame. Shroud won't clear the heater vent.

Any suggestions on how to deal with this one would be most appreciated.
I definitely don't want to have to muck with the seat framing.
