I second the notion that salvage titles are not indications of risky or
defective vehicles.  I have purchased several "salvaged" cars which have
served me very well and proven to be a very good value.  I expect to pay
only 75% of blue book (or less) for a salvage title because resale of the
vehicle is always less.  Just remember to do a very thorough inspection and
test drive (paying special attention to vehicle tracking, alignment, and
squeaks and rattles).
