Before playing with that light make sure what your states "air" rules are.
Here in colorado the O2 or EGR (depending on year and type of vehicle) must
function normal.  On when key on and off when engine is running.  However on
some vehicles this is no longer a "fail" but an advisory.  The vanagon is
one that supposedly now is just advisory.
