Why not have the next great Vanagon get-together at a race track, and eveyone can bring their favorite tires where we can run then through agreed tests - skid-pad, braking, temperature. and see what comes out on top?

Of course including running the maximum load in a Vanagon with the tires around a course a few times and then check for temps and handling.

Kind of like the old tire tests that Car & Driver used to do.

Plus while we are at it, we could use the drag-strip to see what engine swaps bring the best 1/4 mile times.
