I have found someone wrecking a 91 Lexus LS400, and so will be able
to snag a set of instruments after all (for about $28US).

It occurs to me that it may be possible to fit the Lexus dashboard
(dark blue, like my Caravelle) in its entirety, making things much
neater. But as the van is in storage 200km away, I need a measurement
of the max available width across the VW dashboard, or rather, the
width between doortrims with doors shut.

Could someone please measure this on his van and p-mail me ASAP?
