VWoA is a division of VW brand which is owned by VW AG.
Porsche NA is just an office and not a division but is wholly owned and
managed by Porsche which now owns three seats on VW AG board of directors.
How is that for an unrelated becoming related?

Now the tricky part. VW AG from reports in the past when the evil privateer
company was doing all the trademark infringement pillaging in VWoA's name,
was not connected to the directions to protect the brand in NA.

So basically VW AG had directed VWoA to protect the brands within its
territory but not the techniques or level. At least the ethics of it are
better now and there is no where near the amount of it as there was a few
years back with the privateers doing the work and pocketing huge fees and
commissions.

As for emailing to an internal email server? I would bet that filtering
will auto delete almost all of the emails to the private addresses. Sales
and marketing addresses would at least get a complaint mentioned on their
box being filled up at the staff meetings.
