This comment is the latest I heard from a kid walking home from the bus
stop after school. It's more of a comment on what passes for knowledge
nowadays than on vanagons, but here goes. I thought it was pathetically
funny:

Odd-looking kid about 14 with a huge backpack: "wow, you could sleep a
bunch of people in there if you had beds and a stove and all."

Me, doing something inside my westy: "It's already got all that, and
the top pops up so you can stand up."

Kid: "Dude, those hippie folks did one thing right, didn't they?"

Me: "I think it was made by Germans."

Kid: "Whatever."
