Hi Malcom

I did a small diagnostic computer for myself. I called it "VanagonDiag".
This device is reading many signals from the ECU like the Digitool . I can
read the following info with my device. It is good for 1986-1991 ECU
Vanagon.

Small Computer is on when ECU is powered
Ignition swith in start position
Fuel pump ON.
Throttle Switch status
Battery voltage
Air inlet Temperature (Temp.I) in volts and DegC or DegF
Liquid cooler (Temp II) in volts and DegC or DegF
Air flow in volts
Air flow in percent ( linear to volts reading)
Oxygen sensor reading in volts
Oxygen sensor pulsation between 0V and 0.5V
Motor running hours ( Cumulative)
Liters used after fill up ( resetable) PRECISION OF 5%
Gas mileage calculation - in real time and average. LITERS / HOUR or USG /
HOURS
Motor running hours ( resetable between fill up)
HALL SENSOR pulse converted in RPM with 100 RPM resolution
Injector pulse rate (pulse/second)

You can see the small device on the following link. I am still improving it
but I do not work on it for now. My Westy is sleeping for 5 long months.

This device is not cheap. You should count 250$US to 300$US minimum for
that kind of device.
