Okay, time to share a little secret...

You can use brand new Jetta & Golf switches in the Vanagon.  All it take is
a few minutes of work with the soldering gun and you're ready to go.
They're basically the same as the Vanagon switch but without the wiring
attached.

The Jetta switches are part #: 191 959 855 and cost about $14 each.

And before anyone says that they're different and can't be used on the
Vanagon (there's usually at least one of you out there)... You're wrong.
I've put these switches in dozens of Vanagons over the years.
