I have never understood VW's attitude towards the Vanagon. During the
years of the aircooled beetle and the Type II's and long after, there
was suppot by VW, but I have never seen it for the Vanagon

VW must be trying to kill the Vanagon. All they need do is eliminate a
couple of critical parts like this and it's over. You either do an
engine conversion or park the van, permanently.

The attitude is a real source of irritation. On top of that, the VW
marketing folks just can't seem to get it right with the North American
market, particularly the US market. Yes, they do sell cars, but it's
nothing like what they could do if their marketing folks got their crap
together and they put out products to meet the various market segments.
I sometimes feel they don't have a clue as to how marketing really works!
