I subaru's are kinda do it yourself. You find the motor, you pull the wiring harness, then buy the conversion kit (about $1500). If you do all the labor you might have +/- $3000 into it. I don't remember what the TIICO costs but they aren't $7000. Are you thinking $8000 is not a good deal :-) -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of bueses Sent: Wednesday, December 07, 2005 7:08 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Spectators Welcome - Zetec Conversion in Dallas > i'm gonna take the plunge and buy the Zetec engine from the guys at Bostig. > it's a pricey little upgrade but my wasserboxer is giving up the ghost > and i'm sold on this engine. i should be doing the install sometime > february in Dallas if anyone is interested in watching/participating. > should be just like changing a light bulb :-) > > -- mark > > Mark A. So, say $7-8000 & you are all set? How much are the other conversions that this is supposed to be cheaper than? Tom
