>Say what? True fog lights are mounted low, have a strong top cutoff >and are designed to illuminate the road surface and not the fog >particles in front of your face. (Hence the top cutoff.) They have NO cutoff. The glass pattern is the same from top to bottom. Only H4 (and earlier nonhalogen "European" headlights) have cutoffs. >As to your leaving your high beams on Until the "offending" vehicle >passes... well Andrew, that makes you the deliberate offender. Not only >is it, as you stated "downright dangerous", it's downright stupid. Now >you have two vision impaired drivers heading for each other at highway >speeds. Brilliant solution. (No pun intended.) The idea is that HOPEFULLY these morons will realize their error... but of course that's a vain hope. When an oncoming light glares I look slightly to the left, which helps. Fortunately I don't have a bad problem with glare-induced blindness, but some certainly do, my wife f'r instance... this is a physiological problem. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut HUMANITY: THE ULTIMATE VON NEUMANN MACHINE DEMOCRACY: RULE BY THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR
