When I bought my '85 Westy, in 2002, it was leaking at the top of the tank upon filling. I got the whole kit and a new fuel gauge sender (gauge didn't work) which of course fixed the leak. The grommets were the culprits and my crossover tube and the plastic fittings were not broken. I replaced the crossover anyway in that it was part of the kit. So, those leaks aren't always caused by a broken crossover tube or its fittings.
