Thanks to all for the education, the battery as far I could see would not hold the charge and I just decided to go pickup a battery instead. I figured that I just bought the van and might as well install a new one anyway. I picked up a Exide with a 60 month warranty. Just installed it. Thanks again everyone. -- Rob NYC/Long Beach, NY 88 Wolfsburg, Silver > Go here for info on everything to do with batteries and charging, including > the myth > about not storing batteries on a concrete floor: > http://www.uuhome.de/william.darden//index.htm > You should also get a tester to check the specific gravity of the electrolyte. > Jerry > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "robertmstewart" <robertmstewart@MAC.COM> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 9:39 PM > Subject: Battery Recharging Question > > > The BOSCH battery in my van went dead, the van was not started for about a > month, prior to that it was fine. > > I took the battery out of the Van and connected it to a 6V/12V charger and > is set for 6V and on an auto timer for 2 hours. > > Now my question is how long does it need to charge to be fully charged? > > It has a amp gauge on the front of the charger, right now it is at zero as I > just started it.
