When I put my new pop top on I also did it with the top still on, which I recommend as easier and less work. I also screwed up. I had the top halfway installed when I realized I was installing it inside out. I couldn't believe Gowesty to manufacture a tent inside out!!!! Ha Ha. John 87 Westy SVX
