Chris - I remember meeting your girlfriend at Westies@Watkins and I do concur.... :O) I definitely think a thread through this is whether the Spouse/S.O. is competing with the van or has some kind of ownership for the hobby. I think it is definitely possible to "ramp" a person up in all things VW. You just gotta show the fun -lets go camping-cool-road-trip-next-year-burning-man-quit-the-job-for-a-year Side before the - -its-broke-again-whats-that-noise?-cv-joints-are-shot-vanagon-syndrome-lets -sleep-on-the-side-of-the-road-wheres-the-AAA-card...side of the hobby. :O) My Boyfriend knew 0 about cars three years ago - took him to his first VW show - and he took one look at a pimped out 23 window sunroof bus and pointed and said "that one" Now... 3 years, 12+ episodes of "pimp my ride", 15+ camping trips, 5 laps Around watkins Glen race track and near breakdown later..... And I am on the block to provide a pimped/slammed sunroof bay bus with WiFi and a 2.0 liter before we will EVER will see a minister in Vermont. . :O) Cheers - Tom Myers 90 Westy Rochester http://motmyers.blogspot.com > From: Christopher Gronski <gronski@GMAIL.COM> > Reply-To: Christopher Gronski <gronski@GMAIL.COM> > Date: Sat, 11 Feb 2006 09:45:17 -0500 > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Subject: Re: VW wifes > > My current girlfriend refers to my van as "The Other Woman". > > Chris > > On 2/10/06, Chuck Baird <westyman71@yahoo.com> wrote: >> Well guys....the VW wife is out there and I have one. >> >> When my missus and I met, I had a 71 vert, wasnt into buses yet. >> >> She would go to shows with me.
