Uh oh.  I was just starting to wonder if I need to replace mine!

I haven't tried it, but I would think the worst it would do is idle a little fast or slow while warming up.  If there's a difference, using one from an A2 with the 1.8L engine might be better than the A1/Rabbit with the smaller engine. (just trying to find the best match to the Vanagon engine size)
