I've lubricated my syncro speedo as a precautionary measure, partly against rust. Cant say that it made any difference, but then I was not having any problems with it. If you're worried about your instrument panel, why not just take out the cable from the OTHER end and slide the cable out, soak it thin oil and re-insert it. I'd not grease it. as in cold weather it may get all gooped up. Also, one need not disturb the instrument cluster to get at the speedo. But if yout want the oil to easily drain out the bottom end, you'll have to take off the OTHER end of the speedo anyway. Also you may have a 2 peice speedo, joined at the EGR box. See your Bentely, and/or search the archives. M --- J Roth <rbluewesty@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > How wise is it to disassemble the instrument cluster to remove the > speedometer and lubricate it?
