If you have a nice vanagon and dont absolutely know beyond the shadow of a doubt that your fuel lines are 100% about the only things you can do as a precaution are: 1. carry a really good fire extinguisher. 2. Get a sheet metal plate for the rear engine hatch area to cover the fiberglass engine cover. 3. use a metal engine cover from an older vanagon. 4. find a nomex blanket to use over the rear engine cover. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeffrey Schwaia" <jeff@VANAGONPARTS.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, March 03, 2006 11:14 AM Subject: Burnt Vanagon of the Week > For your Friday perusal: > > http://www.vanagonparts.com/temp/burnt_vanagon.html > > > This has been a public service announcement from your friendly Vanagon > enthusiasts... > > Cheers, > > Jeff > www.vanagonparts.com
