quite awhlie ago I had friends who ran at least 16"'s, I think actually 17"'s on their syncro GL. I don't remeber it being especially gutless. They always drove 75 or better and did't care about fuel economy so it probably kept the revs in the power band.

Now they have a Powerstroke E-350 van with a 4x4 conversion. Must be rough.
