Neither of the battery compartments in my Camper came with factory venting and I haven't added any. Sound more like he was trickle charging with an unregulated power source and boiling the battery. Battery! i took the seatbottom to a local interior shop to be restiched, and the guy agreed with me.. improperly vented battery, or battery acid "vapors" had made the stitching rot out.. anyone ever seen this before? how many of you have your battery properly vented w/ the little tube, etc? chris TJ Hannink Goldibox - 1987 Vanagon Camper, Wolfsburg Edition 1981 Bluebird Wanderlodge, FC-33 Winter Park, Florida http://home.earthlink.net/~tjhannink/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wolfsburg_campers http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FC_wanderlodge FAVOR website: http://home.earthlink.net/~clubvanagon --------------------------------- Yahoo!
