So what is the common gas tank venting issue many make reference too as well
as a repair kit common to Vanagon? Did it have to do with vents leaking from
the bottom or at the filler?

I noticed that when i'm at the pump now the gas always over fills the
filler. The auto stop on the pump never catches it in time?
