A description of how the project of switching the Syncro drive train and suspension to a regular Vanagon frame can be found in the files section of Syncro at yahoogroups.com. I think it is in a folder about modifications. I put the file there, but it is several combined posts from Larry Hamm who put the Syncro stuff onto a early 80's air cooled Westfalia. He also put a Subaru engine in the same van. IIRC it is easier to put the Syncro parts onto an 86 or later Vanagon as most of the wholes for putting it on are there to begin with. -- Sam Walters Baltimore, MD 89 Syncro GL, Zetec Inside 85 Westy Weekender 85 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbodiesel - to become veggie oil powered All incoming and outgoing email scanned by automatically updated copy of Norton AntiVirus.
