RE: Heater safety in a Westy
I agree with the wife.  I used a somewhat similar heater, the Coleman
Blackcat, for a few trips and got rid of it.  I camp alone and no pets but
really felt uncomfortable with it on.  I wouldn't even consider the
portables with kids and pets to contend with.  The Mr. Heater looks like the
safest of the lot but still gets very hot and radiates a lot of heat to
anything close to the front of it.
