If the engine is still healthy and clean, no problem. The real question
is what are you trying to gain at this point?

Subject: switching a `high-mileage' 1.9l to synthetic?

My '84 1.9l is pushing 198,000 miles. Although I've thought of
switching it to a synthetic (like Mobil 1 15w-50), my understanding is
that this may be a bad idea on my long-running engine due to the
condition of seals etc. Am I right? Should I keep doing what I'm
doing? (It aint broke...) or should I make the switch?
