Working on the shifter is a project I will soon need to start, myself. The
bucking from a broken distributor wire has caused lasting problems. When
shifting into first(at a stop sign), I sometimes slip into reverse.When
this starts to happen, it gets chronic, and I need to go through the gears
to get things back to normal.I think this is the little plactic "ball " at
the bottom of the shift stick. Cracked , it must be.Also ,for quite awhile,
I have been having difficulty getting into first gear at all. I need to
pull the shifter hard towards the drivers side to get into first.
