Hey all-
If you want to be able to control the interval in your
intermittant wipers, it is a really simple mod.
Just find a wiper relay marked 99 and replace your
wiper relay with that one. I tried to find it on
ETKA, but couldn't find a part number. Anyway, I've
gotten it on a '93 and '94 and up Passat, '93 and up
Corrado so I'm guessing anything in the Passat B3-B4
range and Mk3 Era would have this relay.
To do it, you turn the intermittant wiper on, then
back off for as long as you want the interval to be,
then back on. The relay remembers how long it was off
and will run the wipers that long.
If you have a really old Cabriolet where intermittant
wipers was an option, you can add them pretty easily.
I don't remember if you have to pull the steering
wheel or steering column covers to see it, but there
is a little plastic plug that prevents the wiper stalk
from being pushed down. You simply remove that and
put a relay in where the jumper strip is on your fuse
box. Now you have intermittant wipers!
Enjoy!
