My chrome strips have turned the usual nasty brown... in the Tucson sun
it only takes a couple of months.

Is there any reason why I should not just yank them out?  On another car
(not the Westy) the windscreen was a real bear to get out even after
that chrome bit was removed.  Maybe they are needed when the rubber is
new but 20-year-old window seals seem like they would hold pretty good
w/o it.

Anyone done this?
