Yes, the symptoms are the same as if you ran out of gas. Did your gas evaperate in the 6 months? Dont trust the dash gauge. A vanagon will start , but not rev when gas only remains in the fuel lines. Gas wont evaperate from the fuel lines as fast as the tank. This running gets weaker ,and weaker as pressure gets lower.
