I think you have to sign up for Yahoo to join the subaruvanagon list
anyway ... so ... get a yahoo email address and sign up using that.  All
the traffic will be on that web based email account and you can view it
at your leisure.

Most lists also allow setting up NOMAIL which would also give you the
access you desire.

Or ... set up yet another Gmail account (you do have a dual personality
don't you?) and use that one for subaru stuff only, without linking it
to your primary email program.
