I notice a little paint bubbling around the outlets and at the seams. As one memorable vanagon listing on ebay once said, "this is normal" ;) "spare is one of the original tires, hardly used." Man, if it's one of the factory Conti's, at this point it's not so much a "spare" as it is an "artifact". "179,000 miles (engine actually has only 168,000)" I'd love to hear the story behind THAT. Did they manage to blow up the factory engine at only 11K miles? Or do they now know every AAA tow truck driver east of the mississippi? Maybe they have a big diesel pusher and it was their "toad", but who'd want THAT? -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Geldsauger"
