Subject:Re: Question about Westy City Water Outlet

I thought that check valve (ball) was supposed to shut off the port when
pressure was removed. Mine doesn't restrict flow when city water is
hooked up but, before winter, I have to use a rod to push the ball in to
drain any water so the line/connector won't freeze. It would appear
that ball is there to keep the line clean when not hooked up.

I've purchased a pressure regulator to fit between the hose and the port
so as not to overpressurize and possibly break things.
