Hi folks, Just want to give you a heads-up about changes that are happening to the list. Effective rather immediately, Jim Arnott is in charge of the care and feeding of the list. In other words, it is now his discretion on what kind of content is acceptable to post, who can post, who needs to be censored, etc. Jim's a good guy and been on the list for years and years, so please treat him with the respect that he deserves. Also, please take a moment to thank him for taking on the task - I'm sure he would appreciate it. For now, the server will remain in Maryland, and I will continue to maintain the system, hardware, perform backups, etc. The server will be moved to a new IP address on the 31st of May. The DSL circuit that has been the link for Gerry to all of you is being replaced by a fiber-optic connection. It is much faster, and hopefully more reliable! During the transition, the Internet will need to learn of the new connection that serves Gerry. It may take 24-48 hours for the change to propogate across all the servers on the Internet, so don't be too shocked if your mail is temporarily delayed. It is also possible that some anti-SPAM services on the 'net will need be informed of the change. I'll be watching the error logs and notifying postmasters/system administrators at affected domains to let the mail come through. :) For you techies, the new IP address of Gerry will be 71.126.148.6 Thanks for your patience during this transition! Regards, TomC
