When I had my 911 Carrera converted all the hoses
were converted to barrier hoses.  It has not leaked
any R134a yet--still cold.  It was converted in 2003.

Last year when I had my '87 syncro westy converted,
nothing was changed.  It is still cold, too.  The
conversion cost me about $160--testing, evacuation,
charging with 134a, etc.
