to clarify: It's the square RED lamp at the upper right of the fridge controls, on the 90-91 automatically lighting fridge, not the green LED. battery seems to be good, and got same results when the engine was running. it doesn't seem to be battery voltage; I'll check to be sure, but any other suggestions? anyone replaced the automatic igniter, or spark plug? thanks! ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Kim Brennan <kimbrennan@mac.com> Date: Jun 16, 2006 2:06 PM Subject: Re: 91 fridge not lighting To: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sorry, I took it to mean the RED lamp (not LED) that indicates the SPARKER, not the green LED that indicated the FLAME. If it is the LED (which usually won't glow much until the flame has been on for several seconds anyway) then you could be low on propane. They don't use batteries. For example, see http://madsci.org/posts/archives/ dec98/914741561.Eg.r.html A dim LED that goes out suggests to me that there was sufficient heat (flame) at the burner to light the lamp, but it did not get very hot and it went out. Not a bad sparker, else there would not have been any lamp lighting at all.
