Just luckily got out of a tinted window ticket on my 86 syncro - I just
took the ticket- looked up the law- showed that the tint was pre-1986
and case dismissed- still had to lose a half day waiting around- I gave
the rookie  Virginia State Trooper a copy of the code on my way out the
door- seems he must have remembered something from class about VW
"buses" and drugs as he asked to search the vehicle four times... I
finally said "you can look in my car if I can look in your car" and he
gave up...  I don't think he really understood the 4wd aspect till I
drove up and across the median.
