Well, Mr. "Nuclear Aircraft Carrier" (mechanics mate, third class) dude, I have installed a standard 18"body / 25" overall length glasspack on my '85 1.9l. I kept the flange and a short bit of the pipe from the old muffler, so I had something to set the glasspack onto. Part of the reason that I chose the glasspack was that the outer diameter of that unit was nearly the same as the stock muffler. Less modifications the the hangers and other hardware. It is a little louder, but not objectionably so. The catalytic converter smooths out lots of issues before it ever gets to the muffler/glasspack, anyway.

Sorry if this has been discussed before

I recently purchased and will install this weekend the S&S header for my
1.9l wbx. Looking for muffler recommendations that have a nice throaty
sound.

Right now my muffler is just a rusted shell and I kind of like the sound
but I need a new one.
