A more important issue for me is, what was the temp INSIDE your camper (not outside it). The fridge is INSIDE, not outside. If the inside of your van is 90 (30C) when the outside temp is 80 (27C), Then you are really lowering the temp by 50F, not 40F. I've a burgundy camper and the inside temp in the day time is almost always warmer than the ambient outside temp, regardless of season. At least if the windows are closed.
