Subject:Re: What is the big cylinder in my drivers side rear wheel well?

Recommended change was 30,000 miles. Don't know anyone who changed it
regularly. Remove bottom hose and check lower screen for rust or at
least make sure none of the carbon is falling out. When the carbon falls
out, it will quickly clog that air inlet tube on the bottom causing all
sorts of fuel delivery problems at high speed or long trips. On 2WD, the
fuel pump suction with a clogged inlet tube will easily collapse the
tank making it look like it was lifted with a jack. Especially the
aftermarket tanks.

How often does it need replacing? Mine has to come off to do the AC job.

click of the valve as the throttle is opened.
