I am replacing the oxygen sensor on a 90 Vanagon  and am attempting to
confirm the wiring on the existing one in order to be able to splice the
new one in place.

Both the the existing sensor on the car and the new one have 2 white
wires and one black one. Can I assume that the black wire is the sensor
wire and the white ones are the heater and ground wires and thus
interchangeable?
