Hi Folks, I know that everyone's been on pins and needles in anxious anticipation of the resolution of my leaky transmission problem. Finally got into it again this weekend, and Roger Sisler wins the prize for the correct answer. Apparently I scratched the surface where the seal meets the transmission when removing the old seal. There's a little tiny, tiny scratch there, at the bottom of the ring, which I assume is causing the leak. You can all let out a collective exhale of relief in the knowledge that this conundrum has been settled. My first consideration in any mechanical issue from here on out should and will be "personal human error." In any case, I'm off to the store after work for some JB Weld. Thanks for all of the suggestions, Joe T. >From: Roger Sisler <rogersisler2000@YAHOO.COM> >Reply-To: Roger Sisler <rogersisler2000@YAHOO.COM> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Re: leaking transmission >Date: Wed, 14 Jun 2006 16:59:39 -0400 > >When you removed the seal, did you scratch the the place where it meets >the case.
