Here is a related question - pardon my naivete but last summer before leaving for Colorado I bought one of those solar trickle battery chargers thinking that if my battery went out I could use that to recharge it.  It is supposed to fit into the cig lighter but I guess is for a new model and does not fit.  Is the silver socket the item I need to have to make it fit?  I can't quite tell from the photo.
