What do I need for a clip or whatever to hold the speedometer cable
in the wheel dust cap? Can I just go the hardware store and buy a
clip or do I have to go to the dealer? Going to the dealer for
anything usually leaves me with a funny feeling and a lot lighter
wallet but if that's what I have to do I'll do it. I'm tired of
messing around with DIY fixes.

With a '91 Subaru 2.2 in an '87 Vanagon in western Washington.
ps/ my local VW dealer is the same one for Subaru  parts and they
want way too much for most things.
