Are most of the awnings you're referring to A&E brand?  We have an A&E on our Vanagon and I can't get my husband to switch it to the Westy because the brackets don't hold it down good (makes noise sometimes when you're traveling - rattle), but don't know what type of brackets hold it on good.  I asked Bus Depot, but they said they don't deal with A&E.  Maybe we need to go to Camping World?
