Reference:  1987 Syncro Westfalia

I need to remove the door panels from both front doors to perform some
maintenance.  While I'm in there, I'm considering installing some larger
speakers for more volume and better bass near the bottom of the doors,
retaining the original speakers for high and midrange.  I do NOT want to
lose the door pocket compartment on the driver's door, thinking about
mounting the speaker immediately below it.  I'd appreciate any hints
about speaker and crossover selection and installation from those of you
who have done something similar.   Digital photos to my p-mail would be
greatly appreciated.
